On December 15, 2020, a kiosk for printing boarding passes was put into industrial exploitation at Vladivostok International Airport. The need of obtaining a paper copy of the boarding pass is related to the requirements of the security service at the airports of the Russian Federation for going through pre-flight formalities.
The printing service is free for all online checked-in passengers and available for passengers flying in any class of service, including preferential ones, it allows you to reduce the time for obtaining boarding documents at check-in counters.
After passing the web-check-in, the passenger receives an individual 2D barcode on the device as an SMS or e-mail message. While being already in the terminal building, passenger needs to display this matrix code on the screen of the mobile gadget and bring it to the optical reader of the terminal for self-printing boarding passes. Having received a printed document in this way, the passenger can immediately go to the boarding sector and show it when passing the aviation security line.
