On May 1, 2008, the Dushanbe Airport became the first airport in the history of modern Tajikistan to introduce automated passenger and luggage check-in. Deploying a departure control system allowed local airlines to move to issuing electronic tickets. Furthermore, thanks to the departure control system, passengers are now able to register for their flight and check in their baggage from every corner of the world.
