On June 1, 2011, the Bokhtar Airport (then known as Qurghonteppa) in the Republic of Tajikistan introduced automated passenger and luggage check-in for the first time. Deploying a departure control system allowed local airlines to move to issuing electronic tickets. Furthermore, thanks to the departure control system, passengers are now able to register for their flight and check in their baggage from every corner of the world.
